Oak Lodge and Blanche Nevile Schools follow a student-centred, approach to learning and communication. We are fully committed to supporting each student’s emotional and social development and we are proud of the strong care and support we provide.
We would like to welcome a Mental Health Support Worker/Counsellor who specialises in or is willing to be trained in Draw and talk Therapy to become part of our vibrant and innovative learning communities. To have the opportunity to work with our developing partnership across both schools which promote the highest standards where Oak Lodge and is at the forefront of D/deaf education with additional needs. We are inclusive schools where every student and member of staff is valued highly.
Blanche Nevile Primary and Secondary provide education for D/deaf students from 3 – 16 and Oak Lodge School provides education for pupils aged 10 to 19; who are D/deaf and/or who have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Many of our pupils in both schools have additional needs e.g. ASD, Motor Difficulties, Visual Impairment, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and require an adapted curriculum and more intensive wellbeing support to facilitate their learning.
We are looking for a skilled therapist to join our teams who can:
To enable students to overcome personal barriers to learning and to help provide a structure that supports the safety and well-being of students, particularly with regard to behaviour and the mental health of students.
To work with other staff to support behaviour management, learning engagement, attendance, in order to improve student progress and achievement.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the intervention and impact on student achievement.
To support students who may be exhibiting social, emotional and mental health difficulties in school to achieve their full potential.
Salary:
Grade 6 Scale Point: 18 – 20 depending on qualifications and experience
Actual salary for working 39 weeks/term time only is:
Blanche Nevile: Grade 6 Point 20 (Outer London) FTE = £31,731 per annum
Actual pro-rata for 12 hours, Term Time Only (approximate) = £9,984
Oak Lodge: Grade 6 – 20 point 18 - 20 (Inner London) FTE = £33.510.00
Actual Pro-rata for 18 hours, Term Time only = (£14,521.00)
Hours:
Monday to Friday - 36 hours per week across both school.
Commencement:
January 2024 or sooner.
